Kenya AA coffee is widely considered in general to be one of the best and most iconic coffees in the world.  This selection is grown at elevations between 1500 and 1900 meters above sea level (up to 6000 feet). These high growing altitudes surrounding Mount Kenya, which reaches a peak of nearly 17,000 feet and lies a mere 10 miles south of the equator, produce more mature beans grown at a slower rate allowing the flavors to develop more fully in red volcanic soil that is ultra fertile with gentle slopes that provide adequate drainage.  

The AA designation of the coffee is from its grading.  The Kenya coffee industry grades all beans first by size then measured immediately after processing with the size graded through a screened sieve type method. Their standard is specific to Kenya with the experience and knowledge in their region that the largest beans (AA and AA+) will be the most superior in flavor due to the climate and elevation at which they are grown.

The first thing you'll notice about this coffee is the amazing floral aromas and mild fruitiness, specifically berries.  The mouth feel is a full round body that is super smooth that some relate to being lightly syrupy. A bright citrus note on first sip belies this coffee's known brightness that quickly morphs into a bit of berry sweetness, and juiciness.
