This exceptional coffee comes to us from the Urriola family's specialty coffee farm, Los Urriola, outside of the small mountain town of Boquete, Panama in the Chiriqui Province. Boquete physically sits in a valley on the eastern side of stratovolcano Baru, the tallest mountain in Panama. Finca Los Urriola is an 80 year old coffee farm, founded by Jose Urriola in the 1940s but now managed by his grandson Carlos and his son Marcos.
The Boquette valley sits at just above 1000 meters above sea level and the coffee is grown on the volcanic slopes above the valley and in the central cordillera
In the cup, the coffee maintains an above average body, average acidity, and a noted semi-sweetness. Notes of milk chocolate with nougat meets caramel meets honey and an almond like nuttiness.
